Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Management in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry activity, monitor assigned areas, and support a professional environment through visible presence, strong communication, and customer service.   • DayTime: Mon 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM, Thur 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM, Fri 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM, Sat 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM, Sun 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and delivery documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access to the location.
  • Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report security-related concerns according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, shipping and receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
  • Support Allied Universal and site personnel by documenting daily activity, visitor interactions, and security-related incidents in a clear and timely manner.

Minimum Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licenses requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
