About the role

GardaWorld Security Services is now hiring a Tactical Security Officer in Bethesda, MD. The position requires a minimum of 5 years of U.S. police officer experience within the last 7 years, an active Armed MD Guard Card with handgun permit, and must have completed a Tomohawk or Judgment Use of Force course.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a commanding presence to deter potential threats
• Respond to active shooter situations, hostage scenarios, bomb threats, etc.
• Serve as the initial point of contact for police, fire, and EMS during incidents
• Maintain excellent marksmanship and weapon handling and retention skills
• Provide rapid response in critical situations
• Enforce customer procedures, regulations, and standards
• Spot suspicious activity and control access to secure areas
• Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks
• Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of U.S. police officer experience within the last 7 years
• Active Armed MD Guard Card with handgun permit
• Secondary weapon training certifications (taser, OC spray, baton, handcuff)
• CPR, First Aid, and Stop the Bleed Certifications
• Ability to multitask and synthesize large amounts of information quickly
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Pass an extensive background screening and drug test screening process
• At least 21 years of age or older
• Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office
• Soft skills to manage various types of personalities
• Excellent uniform appearance
• Pass a physical fitness test consisting of running, push-ups, sit-ups, and step-ups
• Pass baseline trainings, yearly refreshers, and psychological exams
