About the role
Commissioned Armed Law Enforcement positions in Memphis, TN as part of the Facility Protection Unit working with the Tennessee Highway Patrol Protective Services Division.
Starting pay: $26.00/hour.
Requirements
- 21+ years of age
- Valid Driver’s License
- No visible tattoos
- Pass an extensive background check
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
- Minimum of three (3) years of law enforcement, military (honorable discharge), or private armed security experience (the last 3 years must be armed if experience is in security)
- Excellent communication skills; able to articulate and write clear and concise incident or situation reports
- Able to complete all range qualifications and functions
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality security services, safeguarding personnel, property, and information
- Conduct patrols within and around the facility on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to ensure the protection of people, assets, and sensitive or classified information
- Preserve order and enforce rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site
- Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons
- Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, secure classified information
- Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate
- Respond to and assess security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field
