About the role
Commissioned Armed Law Enforcement positions in Clarksville, TN as part of the Facility Protection Unit working with the Tennessee Highway Patrol Protective Services Division.
Starting pay: $26.00/hour. Paid orientation, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and 401k for full-time employees.
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- No visible tattoos
- Pass an extensive background check
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
- One of the following:
- 5+ years in security, with the last 3 years armed, or
- 3+ years in military (honorable discharge), or
- 3+ years in law enforcement
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality security services, safeguarding personnel, property, and information
- Conduct patrols within and around the facility on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to ensure the protection of people, assets, and sensitive or classified information
- Preserve order and enforce rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site
- Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons
- Greet guests and employees, assist where appropriate, escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, and secure classified information
- Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders; report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication
- Interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate
- Respond to and assess security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills; able to articulate and write clear and concise incident or situation reports
- Able to complete all range qualifications and functions
- Preferred: Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field
