About the role
Join Unlimited Technologies as a Full-Time Security Installation Technician. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced security technicians and grow your skills in a supportive environment. You will manage all aspects of access control and IP camera products and systems installed at client sites, including installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can make sound decisions in the best interest of the project, the customer, and Unlimited Technology. You must be able to learn UT’s device monitoring/management methodologies and communicate effectively with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Install and service Access Control and IP camera systems according to engineered drawings.
- Possess programming skills associated with the UT product line.
- Program, terminate, and commission a wide range of Access Control products and platforms.
- Identify and resolve issues that could negatively impact job productivity.
- Thoroughly complete all necessary paperwork relating to job tickets.
- Maintain a safe, clean working environment at all times.
- Communicate all activity to the job Project Manager or Field Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Maintain the condition and cleanliness of any company-provided vehicle.
- Maintain a safe driving record and report any incidents or near misses to management immediately.
- Attend any required product or safety training.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-5 years of field installation experience in the security environment.
- Mastery of all install and service Technician responsibilities.
- Experience in the installation of door hardware such as strikes and magnetic locks.
- Experience troubleshooting network switches.
- Experienced in reading and comprehending engineered drawings.
- Experienced in marking up or “red lining” of drawings post-install.
- Strong work ethic, teamwork, and a “can-do” attitude with a desire to provide the best service.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter and quick learner.
Qualifications
- Certifications in Lenel/Software House access control preferred.
- Certifications in American Dynamics, Genetec, Exacq preferred.
- Experience in Audio Visual Technology.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work well and interact with other UT employees as well as UT customers.
- Strong interpersonal and communicative skills.
