Security Installation Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Security Installation Technician to oversee the installation and deployment of electronic security systems on a large-scale hyperscale data center construction project. This is a hands-on field leadership role focused specifically on electronic security systems, not general construction.

Responsibilities

  • Open, secure, and manage the job site each day
  • Lead the day-to-day execution of electronic security system installations
  • Spend up to 80% of your time in the field conducting site walks and overseeing work
  • Supervise security technicians, installers, and subcontractors
  • Cook up closely with the General Contractor (GC) and project stakeholders
  • Manage short-term construction schedules and daily work plans
  • Schedule subcontractors, inspections, vendors, and site activities
  • Interpret blueprints, construction drawings, security system schematics, and project documentation
  • Review and manage RFIs, ASIs, material submittals, punch lists, and inspection requirements
  • Maintain daily logs and provide project status updates to the Project Manager
  • Enforce safety, quality, and installation standards across the site
  • Identify and resolve field challenges, coordination conflicts, and installation issues
  • Ensure all security systems are installed according to project specifications and industry standards

Qualifications

  • Must-Have Experience:
    • Electronic security industry experience
    • Strong background in: Access Control, CCTV / Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection Systems
    • 3+ years of supervisory, foreman, lead technician, or construction leadership experience
    • Experience managing crews and subcontractors on active job sites
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and security system documentation
    • Strong site coordination and project execution skills
    • Proven commitment to safety and quality standards
    • Valid driver's license
    • Ability to work full-time on-site in a construction environment
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Hands-on experience with Software House access control systems
    • Experience installing or supervising Axis IP camera deployments
    • Large-scale data center construction projects
    • Mission-critical facility environments
    • Coordination of projects involving 100+ contractors on site
    • Fast-paced commercial construction projects
    • Strong partnership experience working alongside General Contractors
    • Security system commissioning and integration experience
