Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through appropriate channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property, common areas, entry points, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access to the location by observing entry and exit activity, verifying authorization when required, and directing residents and visitors according to site procedures.
- Support a respectful environment by assisting with de-escalation, following post orders, and communicating professionally with residents, guests, staff, and/or first responders.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

- Licensed by the New York State Department of State.
