Security Guard Part Time Visitor Management

About the role

As an Access Control Officer in a retail distribution center, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, documenting visitor activity, and communicating professionally with employees, vendors, and guests. Your visible presence will help deter security-related incidents while supporting daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and associates by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the distribution center by verifying credentials, documenting visitor and contractor entry, and directing authorized personnel to appropriate locations.
• Observe inbound and outbound vehicle activity, review delivery documentation as assigned, and communicate access concerns or irregularities to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents, access-control alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, gate areas, parking locations, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
