About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to concerns with professionalism and integrity while contributing to Allied Universal’s caring, reliable, and team-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and reports.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shelter location, including common areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas, helping to deter unauthorized activity.
• Document observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns, and communicate relevant information to site representatives and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
