Security Communications Center Specialist
About the role
The Security Communications Center (SCC) Specialist supports the 24/7 communications center, dispatch, and real-time monitoring services in support of secure government facilities. Duties include monitoring and operating security communication systems, receiving and processing emergency and non-emergency calls, coordinating responses with officers and first responders, and maintaining detailed records.
Responsibilities
- Maintain detailed incident, alarm, and dispatch records, including call times, officer arrival, system activations, notifications, and resolution details in government-approved systems.
- Support overall Communications Center operations by conducting alarm resets, performing routine system checks, issuing emergency notifications, assisting team members, and completing required training and recertification.
- Respond to and coordinate alarm events (burglary, trespass, unauthorized entry, life safety), track officer deployment, and provide continuous situational updates until incident resolution.
- Manage radio communications, monitor officer status, respond to requests for assistance, and escalate critical transmissions following site procedures.
- Receive, process, and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls, relaying accurate, time-sensitive information to police, fire, medical, and security personnel in accordance with established dispatch protocols.
- Monitor and operate security communication systems, including cameras, alarm panels, access control systems, and electronic surveillance tools; identify and report security anomalies in real time.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph, CI Poly acceptable with CCA approval pending Full-Scope Polygraph, consistent with contract requirements.
- Must maintain eligibility.
- Experience in security operations, emergency dispatch, monitoring, or communications in a government, military, or cleared environment.
- Government-Approved SCC Training, Includes dispatch procedures, alarm monitoring, communication protocols, and security modules; annual recertification required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid State-Issued ID or Driver’s License, 18+ years of age.
Qualifications
- Ability to receive, relay, and prioritize time-sensitive information accurately under pressure.
- Strong situational awareness and ability to monitor multiple communication channels, alarms, and surveillance systems simultaneously.
- Competence in using radio systems, CAD/dispatch software, alarm systems, and electronic monitoring platforms.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound, timely decisions during emergency situations.
- Excellent verbal communication and customer-service skills when interacting with officers, first responders, and facility personnel.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift 25 lbs., and meet government vision/hearing and physical fitness requirements.
- Capacity to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate, real-time documentation.

Pay
The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements. The hourly pay range for this role is $23.37 - $33.00.

This position is contingent upon contract award. It is located at Kunia/Wahiawa, Hawaii.
