General Duties/Responsibilities
- Supervises and monitors the performance of contracted security personnel.
- Maintains radio contact with contracted security and senior management.
- Covers routine inspections of facilities and equipment.
- Responds to calls for assistance, including medical, fire, workplace violence and accidents.
- Responds as an interim Incident Commander during critical facility incidents until relieved by senior management.
- Documents accurately detailed incidents reports and observations.
- Safeguards and distributes recovered property as required for lost and found items.
- Answers telephone inquiries from internal staff and external customers.
- Oversees transactional deliveries from armored vehicles, fuel companies and various other on-site deliveries.
- Monitors, screens, and documents all employees and visitors.
- Contacts departmental personnel of visitors upon arrival.
- Provides a one-on-one escort to assigned visitors or employees.
- Prepares and distributes badges to visitors and provides access to buildings and parking area.
- Responds with flexibility when assigned tours and assignments based upon the company and departmental needs.
- Makes recommendations regarding procedures and observations.
- Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
- Greets internal staff and external visitors or customers in a professional, courteous, and polished manner always.
Position Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in security, law enforcement or military.
- Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Must have a valid NYS Security Guard License.
- Knowledge of PC software applications including Microsoft Suite.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for an undefined amount of time.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work days, evenings (including overnights), weekdays, weekends, holidays and overtime hours.
- Demonstrates dependability in terms of attendance and availability.
- Ability to sit in a sedentary position for an undefined amount of time.
- Ability to bend and lift up to 25lbs.
- Ability to serve as a messenger making deliveries both internally and externally (as needed).
- Ability to read, write and converse in English.
- Ability to demonstrate sound decisions and the ability to complete one’s work when obstacles are encountered.
