Security Assistant Shift Manager - Grave Shift - Full Time - Virginia

About the role

With our rapid projected expansion, the Live! Casino & Hotel brand is searching for the right talent to grow with the organization and help drive our future success. The Security Shift Manager is responsible for the overall management of the shift and personnel that provide security and a safe environment while ensuring protection of guests, team members, and Live! assets in the absence of the Shift Manager. This position assists the Shift Manager with all related duties and tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing programs, processes, and procedures that ensure the protection of Maryland Live’s assets, including the safety and security of guests and team members.
• Manage programs and processes to reduce and control lost‑time injuries.
• Communicate and implement department procedures in accordance with the director and internal controls.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Security Department training.
• Investigate incidents and/or guest complaints, compiling data for accurate reports to the Gaming Commission and department heads.
• Complete and investigate first reports on injuries.
• Provide input and assist with the preparation of performance reviews of supervisors and officers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in security or law enforcement as a lead or supervisor.
• A two‑year degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to work in an environment where alcohol and smoking are present.
• Must be able to secure and maintain licensure as required by the Virginia Gaming Control Board or any other applicable regulatory entity, or as required by Live’s operating standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability and energy to move throughout a casino of over 300,000 square feet with a true sense of urgency.
• Capability to go up and down 31 stairs multiple times per day and use elevators as needed.
