About the role
The Department of Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) is seeking a dynamic physician to become the new Section Chief of Rheumatology. The successful candidate will lead the department's clinical and research operations, oversee a diverse group of physicians and advanced practice providers, and train the next generation of clinicians in rheumatology.
Responsibilities
- Lead the clinical and research operations of the Section of Rheumatology
- Evaluate and treat patients with the full spectrum of rheumatologic disorders
- Manage a robust ACGME-accredited rheumatology fellowship program
- Oversee a busy inpatient and outpatient service
- Be familiar with the tripartite academic mission of clinical care, education, and research
- Provide expert, compassionate, and high value clinical care
- Teach learners at all levels
- Mentor faculty members
Requirements
- Board certification in rheumatology
- Current licensure (or ability to be licensed) in New Hampshire and Vermont
- Experience overseeing a busy inpatient and outpatient service
- Familiarity with the tripartite academic mission of clinical care, education, and research
Qualifications
- Qualified for the Geisel criteria to be appointed at the rank of Associate or Professor of Medicine
- Experience as a leader in an academic medical center
