SEC Financial Reporting Accountant (Contract) Location: Indianapolis, IN (on-site) Employment Type: Full-Time Contract About the Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced SEC Financial Reporting Accountant to support critical financial reporting and compliance initiatives. This contract position will play a key role in preparing segment information as inputs to the consolidated SEC filings, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, and supporting the organization's public reporting obligations.The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical accounting background, extensive SEC reporting experience, and the ability to collaborate across finance, legal, investor relations, and audit teams. Key Responsibilities SEC Reporting & Financial Disclosures Prepare financials data and disclosures as input into quarterly and annual SEC reports, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K.Draft and review financial statement disclosures, footnotes, Management's Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), and earnings releases. Financial Analysis & Reporting Partner with accounting and finance teams to gather information necessary for external reporting.Analyze complex financial data and support the accurate presentation of the company's financial position and results. Audit & SOX Support Assist internal and external auditors by providing supporting schedules, documentation, and financial analyses.Support compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and financial reporting processes. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Legal and Investor Relations teams to ensure accurate and compliant external communications.Contribute to earnings releases, investor presentations, and other public-facing financial materials. Technical Accounting & Process Improvement Research and evaluate new accounting standards, SEC guidance, and reporting requirements.Assist with implementing new reporting processes and improving existing financial reporting procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA designation required.5+ years of experience in financial reporting and/or public accounting.Proven experience preparing SEC filings and public company financial statements.Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirements.Experience with XBRL tagging and SEC filing software is preferred.Advanced analytical, technical accounting, and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is preferred.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
