About the role

Her Campus Media is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Finance team. This role will support and report directly to the Accounting Manager. The candidate will contribute to all day-to-day finance operations, including general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and budget administration. We are looking for a reliable, diligent, and detail-oriented candidate ready to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close processes and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and record journal entries while maintaining the chart of accounts.
• Analyze financial data to generate accurate balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
• Work alongside the Accounting Manager to manage day-to-day finance tasks.
• Enter accounts payable and log vendor bills.
• Review all invoices for proper documentation and approval before issuing payment.
• Manage vendor onboarding, collect and track W-9 forms, and handle payment inquiries.
• Prepare and process employee expense reports.
• Help implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls in compliance with GAAP.
• Maintain prompt, effective communication with employees, clients, and external vendors.
• Contribute to special projects and additional assignments as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business, OR open to undergraduate or graduate students pursuing an accounting or business degree.
• 1+ years of accounting or finance experience.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and Excel is required.
• Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Strong accounting, reconciliation, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet accounting deadlines.

Pay

$30.00 - $35.00 / hour
