SEASONAL - PRODUCTION PACKERS - 2ND Shift

About the role

Alsum Farms & Produce is hiring 10–12 Seasonal Second Shift Production Packers for our busy September through December harvest season. This is a great opportunity to earn extra money for the holidays, gain valuable experience, and potentially transition into a permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Repack potatoes by learning and applying stacking patterns for bags and boxes.
• Stack 50-pound boxes, bales, and various-sized bags (5–20 pounds) neatly on pallets or in bins.
• Set up pallets and bins as needed to maintain efficient packaging operations.
• Wrap bins with plastic wrap or netting when required.
• Weigh potatoes to ensure correct bag and box weights.
• Clean up around machinery, including picking up good produce for reuse and disposing of garbage.
• Perform sanitation tasks as outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Unload rail cars and trailers, dump 100-pound bags of potatoes into holding bins, and clean out potato bins.
• Tear open returned bags of potatoes and dump them into bins.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.
• Ability to use Human Resource Information System (HRIS) software.

Physical/Environmental Demands

• Must be agile to climb stationary ladders and enter potato bins.
• Perform repetitive movements and demonstrate good manual dexterity.
• Exposure to airborne particles or fumes.
• Ability to lift, move, and carry 50-pound boxes and 100-pound bags of potatoes.
• Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas.

Schedule

Seasonal position running from September through December, second shift.
