Seasonal Medical Laboratory Scientist

About the role

Precisely and accurately performs and evaluates a variety of technical procedures. Utilizes accepted quality control techniques by manual, semi-automated, or automated methodologies and equipment. Performs phlebotomy procedures and assists in other laboratory activities as requested. Performs Section Head Duties when Section Head is not available.

Responsibilities

• Precisely and accurately performs and evaluates a variety of technical procedures.
• Utilizes accepted quality control techniques by manual, semi-automated, or automated methodologies and equipment.
• Performs phlebotomy procedures and assists in other laboratory activities as requested.
• Performs Section Head Duties when Section Head is not available.

Requirements

• Florida State License as Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Supervisor required
• High school graduate or equivalent required and a BS degree in Medical Technology or equivalent with proper certification by the Board of Registry (ASCP) or NCA is required
• Previous experience as medical technologist required

Qualifications

• Competent in providing direct care to patients within the following age brackets: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics

Skills

• Manual, semi-automated, or automated methodologies and equipment
• Phlebotomy procedures
