Seasonal Guest Services Onsite Shuttle Driver Associate

About the Role

The Seasonal Guest Services Onsite Shuttle Driver Associate supports the Christmas at the Library program at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA). This role enhances the guest experience by providing safe shuttle transportation throughout the campus and delivering exceptional customer service to guests attending the Library and related events. Employment begins prior to the event and is seasonal.

Responsibilities

• Greets tour groups as they arrive at the Billy Graham Library and provides information concerning their visit both inside and outside Library grounds.
• Maintains a neat and orderly welcome center, shuttle stop, and lobby area, ensuring all items (e.g., wheelchairs, umbrellas) are stationed correctly.
• Demonstrates an approachable and helpful attitude, answering questions and providing guidance to guests.
• Assists with carriage rides, shuttle stops, check-in tent, and crowd control areas as needed.
• Obeys all company policies, procedures, traffic laws, and regulations.
• Safely transports guests and staff to designated locations throughout BGEA property while maintaining vehicle cleanliness and ensuring proper refueling.
• Monitors vehicles and reports maintenance needs; performs a multi-point safety check of the assigned bus each shift.
• Collects surveys and verifies completion of required information.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work environment, restocking supplies as needed for effective ministry.
• Opens, uses, and closes computer systems as assigned.
• Reports any issues to the Manager on Duty immediately and maintains clear, timely communication with supervisors.
• Covers all guest services areas as assigned by the Manager on Duty.

Requirements

• High School diploma required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse range of individuals.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and perform effectively with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to effectively read, write, and speak English.
• Maintains sensitivity to the needs of older adults and those with special needs.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to perform effectively under occasional stressful conditions and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and prolonged hours (shifts may extend until at least 10:00 p.m. in December).

• Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer and participates in daily staff devotions, including Bible reading and leading group prayer as scheduled.
• Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations.
• Effectively represents Jesus Christ within both personal and professional spheres of influence.

Working Conditions

• Frequent interaction with guests, volunteers, staff, and the public.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather.
• Environment with frequent interruptions and distractions.
• Moderate workload with fluctuating periods of high and low activity.
• May require working on short notice to provide coverage for staffing needs.

Schedule

During the first four months of employment, the regular work schedule is Monday through Saturday during normal business hours. During the Christmas at the Library event in December, the schedule includes evening shifts, with some shifts extending until at least 10:00 p.m.

Benefits

Associate or Seasonal employees working up to 19 hours a week (not to exceed 1,000 hours a year) are not eligible for benefits.

Expectations for Ministry Employment

• Agrees that the purpose of their employment is to further BGEA’s Christian mission and that their role is vital in carrying out this mission.
• Commits to exhibiting conduct consistent with BGEA’s expectations, both at work and away, in alignment with scriptural teachings and BGEA’s Statement of Faith and policies.
• Understands that BGEA has the right to ensure its Christian religious purpose is upheld and that conduct inconsistent with its beliefs may result in corrective action, including termination.
