Responsibilities
- Own the agency's SEO strategy across technical SEO, content, and AI search.
- Develop SEO and GEO strategies for multiple clients.
- Partner with Account teams to build and present client strategies.
- Serve as the agency's SEO subject matter expert.
- Lead client calls, workshops, and strategy sessions.
- Oversee technical SEO best practices including: Site architecture, crawl optimization, metadata, robots.txt, site speed, indexing, and conduct technical audits.
- Partner with Development to ensure SEO-friendly implementation.
- QA technical SEO implementation with working knowledge of HTML/CSS.
- Lead keyword research and content strategy.
- Develop content that performs in both traditional search and AI-powered search.
- Build GEO strategies to improve visibility in LLMs and AI search engines.
- Stay current on AI search trends and emerging search technologies.
- Utilize AI tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and similar platforms to improve workflows.
- Collaborate with Creative, Development, Paid Media, and Account teams.
- Ensure SEO is integrated into campaigns from planning through execution.
- Align paid and organic strategies for maximum impact.
- Manage SEO workload, priorities, and capacity.
- Forecast resource needs.
- Cook up freelance SEO support as needed.
- Monitor rankings, organic traffic, conversions, and AI search visibility.
- Deliver actionable reporting and recommendations.
- Translate technical SEO and AI concepts into clear business insights for clients.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of SEO experience with expertise in both technical and content SEO.
- Agency or multi-client experience preferred.
- Experience developing or testing GEO/AI search strategies.
- Strong understanding of: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Keyword Planner.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Proven success improving organic traffic, rankings, and visibility.
- Experience managing freelance or contract resources.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana or Teamwork and time-tracking platforms like Harvest.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Pay
$100,000 - $115,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
