About the Role
As a trained Scrum Master, you are responsible for facilitating a Scrum team and are accountable for removing impediments to achieve the sprint goals and deliverables. You ensure the Scrum process is used as intended, protect the development team, enable self-management, foster collaboration across teams, and keep the team focused on tasks.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for meeting Sprint objectives along with the Scrum team.
- Ensure meeting of sprint commitments and own/resolve team impediments.
- Help the Product Owner (PO) adopt the Scrum process and ensure PO availability.
- Support the PO in maintaining the Product Backlog, defining User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
- Facilitate estimation, backlog refinement, and all planning ceremonies.
- Ensure Definition of Ready (DOR), Definition of Done (DOD), and Acceptance Criteria are available and adhered to.
- Ensure MoSCoW adherence of the Sprint Backlog at the Sprint level.
- Accountable for the correct implementation of the Agile process.
- Protect the team from external interference.
- Facilitate technical assistance and enable clear communication among team members.
- Participate in Scrum of Scrums across teams and highlight impediments.
- Provide feedback on team members' performance to the Agile Line Manager and Agile Program Leader.
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Planning, Daily Standup, Grooming, Demo, Retrospective) and ensure correct adoption.
- Ensure updating of all Scrum artifacts and ALM tools (client or Wipro) on a daily basis.
- Update key Scrum metrics into Wipro’s internal tool on a Sprint-by-Sprint basis and analyze metrics for corrective actions.
- Create a competency improvement and cross-skilling plan for the team, review monthly, and ensure improvement in competency scores.
- Ensure multiskilling for at least 50% of the team.
- Help the team attain stable velocity within 6-8 sprints (allowing for 10% variation).
- Train the team on proper adoption of Agile processes (Scrum/XP/Kanban).
- Help adopt engineering practices like ATDD, TDD, CI/CD, and Refactoring.
- Record and own retrospective actions.
- Participate in community of practice initiatives.
- Provide inputs to the Line Manager for internal quality forums (QIC/APR/QBR/MBR, etc.).
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in a Scrum Master role.
- Experience with Scaling Agile.
Pay
Expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000. Final compensation will depend on geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience.
