Summary: In this contingent resource assignment, you may:

  • Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Scrum or Agile.
  • Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale, or longer-term Scrum Master challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented factors.
  • Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables.
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Scrum or Agile experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.

Lead All Scrum Ceremonies

  • Sprint Planning
  • Quarterly planning
  • Daily Stand ups (Daily Scrum)
  • Sprint Review (Demo)
  • Sprint Retrospective

Resource Capacity Tracking and Forecast

  • Ensure adherence to Scrum framework and Agile principles
  • Facilitate backlog refinement (grooming) with Product Owners
  • Support empirical process control (inspect and adapt)
  • Manage sprint execution and track progress against goals
  • Monitor delivery using Agile metrics: Velocity, Sprint burndown/burnup, Cycle time / throughput
  • Identify and remove team impediments and blockers
  • Cookordinate cross-team dependencies and risks

Technical Enablement

  • Understand system architecture, APIs, integrations, and dependencies
  • Help teams assess technical feasibility and complexity during planning
  • Support technical discussions
  • Aid in identifying and managing: Technical debt, Environment and infrastructure issues, Release and deployment risks, Software/Hardware End of Life management, Vulnerability Management effort tracking and prioritization
  • Partner with Product Owners on backlog prioritization
  • Engage engineering leads and architects on delivery risks
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership
  • Shield the team from distractions and unplanned work
  • Coach teams on Agile and Scrum practices
  • Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives
  • Promote self-organization and accountability within teams

  • Scrum (primary)

Agile Delivery Tools

  • Jira (boards, backlog, sprint tracking, reporting)
  • Confluence (documentation, retrospectives, knowledge base)
  • SharePoint
  • MS Office and Teams

Skills

  • Knowledge of Sprint-based delivery (time-boxed iterations)
  • Experience with Backlog management and refinement
  • Definition of Ready (DoR) / Definition of Done (DoD) story sizing (Planning Poker, Fibonacci estimation)
  • Incremental and iterative delivery
  • Agile SDLC workflow
