About the role
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear. They consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities, including selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Affords knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
- Ensures inventory, sales statistics, and expenses are monitored to maintain profitability in all departments.
- Directs staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
- Updates the Store Manager on inventory movements and customer trends.
- Maintains high levels of customer service.
- Performs general administrative duties as needed.
- Assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.
- Trains and supervises employees in the absence of the Store Manager.
Requirements
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- 1-3 years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage a team and meet overall goals and profits.
- Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Team-player with a passion for outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in each product area or department in the store.
- Passionate about giving outstanding customer service and promoting merchandise.
- Trained in the Store Manager's Responsibilities.
