Scrum Master
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Scrum Master for cross-functional teams supporting data ingestion, data governance, and engineering initiatives.
- Coach and mentor teams that are new to Agile and Scrum, helping establish Agile principles, ceremonies, and best practices.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
- Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to manage and prioritize work using epics, features, and user stories.
- Drive transparency and accountability through effective metrics, reporting, and Agile dashboards.
- Utilize Jira and Jira Align to manage workflows, track progress, and provide meaningful reporting to leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify and remove impediments that may impact team productivity and delivery.
- Promote continuous improvement and help teams mature their Agile practices over time.
- Collaborate with leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure alignment on priorities and delivery goals.
- Keep Agile processes practical and streamlined, avoiding unnecessary complexity while maintaining structure and discipline.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master supporting Agile software delivery teams.
- Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks, Scrum principles, and Agile transformation efforts.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Jira and Jira Align.
- Experience managing and tracking epics, features, user stories, and Agile reporting.
- Ability to coach teams that are new to Agile and help drive adoption of Agile practices.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to simplify processes and guide teams toward effective ways of working.
About the role
This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL. The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
