Scrum Master (SAFe) – AI Delivery | Energy & Utilities Location: Hybrid in NYC Attendance Type: Hybrid Duration: Contract-to-Hire Level: Mid-Level (3–5+ years as a Scrum Master) Compensation: $55–$65 per hour About The Role Brooksource is seeking a SAFe-certified Scrum Master to support a leading utility client in New York City as they scale artificial intelligence initiatives across their business. In this hybrid, contract-to-hire role, you will guide one or more agile teams building and deploying AI and data solutions—including machine learning models, generative AI tools, and intelligent automation—within a large SAFe environment. This position is ideal for a mid-level professional who enjoys bringing structure to fast-moving, experimental work and helping technical teams deliver real value to the business. You will play a key role in facilitating agile ceremonies, supporting PI Planning, managing dependencies, and driving continuous improvement, while ensuring the effective transition of AI initiatives from experimentation to production. Success in this role is measured by predictable delivery, clear stakeholder visibility, and fostering self-organizing, continuously improving teams. What You'll Do Facilitate Scrum and SAFe ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinementParticipate in PI Planning and ART-level events, coordinating dependencies with other teams, the Release Train Engineer (RTE), and Product ManagementPartner with Product Owners to keep backlogs prioritized, well-defined, and aligned to PI objectivesRemove impediments and escalate risks to ensure teams maintain predictable deliveryGuide AI and data teams in adapting agile practices for iterative work such as model experimentation, data preparation, and MLOpsTrack and report team metrics (velocity, predictability, flow) and use them to drive continuous improvementCoach team members and stakeholders on agile and SAFe principles, building a culture of transparency and accountabilitySupport governance, security, and responsible-AI checkpoints within the delivery processFoster collaboration and communication between technical teams and business stakeholders What You Bring Active SAFe certification (SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, or SAFe Agilist)3–5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master on software, data, or technology teamsHands-on experience working within a SAFe Agile Release Train, including PI PlanningProficiency with agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or RallyStrong facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skillsAbility to work with technical teams and translate between engineers and business stakeholdersExperience in the utility, energy, or another regulated industry (preferred)Exposure to AI, machine learning, data science, or analytics delivery teams (preferred)Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), MLOps, or data engineering workflows (preferred)Additional certifications such as CSM, PSM, or ICP-ACC (preferred) What Success Looks Like Teams consistently meet PI objectives with predictable deliveryAI initiatives move from experimentation to production with clear visibility for stakeholdersTeams become more self-organizing and continuously improve sprint over sprint Disclaimer: Brooksource, Medasource, and Calculated Hire are part of the Eight Eleven Group family of companies and operate under Eight Eleven Group, LLC.
