Scrap Inspector

Responsibilities

• Inspect the quality of scrap entering the yard
• Follow safety requirements
• Adhere to work procedures to ensure high-quality scrap for the mill
• Perform scrap inspection and testing of scrap chemistry
• Report non-conforming material
• Communicate effectively with other employees and on-site contractors

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and walk several miles per day
• Strong safety awareness
• Good communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic)
• Self-motivated and works well with others
• Quality and detail-oriented
• Outstanding computer skills, including Excel and Word
