Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing related to donor and product suitability, analytical assays, and other assigned testing procedures.
- Independently execute, interpret, and troubleshoot laboratory methods while ensuring accurate documentation of results.
- Analyze test data against established quality controls and acceptance criteria.
- Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation and automated testing equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, quality control activities, and equipment documentation in accordance with SOPs.
- Maintain proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and electronic documentation systems.
- Ensure all work complies with cGMP requirements, internal quality standards, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in investigations related to laboratory discrepancies and assist with problem-solving activities.
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel and cross-functional teams to resolve testing and workflow issues.
- Follow all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies and maintain a safe, clean laboratory environment.
- Cross-train in multiple laboratory functions and support additional testing activities as business needs require.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or another related scientific discipline from an accredited institution or
- Associate degree in Chemical, Biological, Physical Science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
- Recent graduates with relevant laboratory coursework are encouraged to apply.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Intermediate computer proficiency and ability to learn laboratory information systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and work effectively in a highly regulated laboratory environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) certification or Tennessee laboratory licensure.
- Two or more years of experience in a clinical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, blood banking, or regulated laboratory environment.
- Experience working under cGMP, GLP, CAP, CLIA, FDA, or other regulated laboratory standards.
- Experience with automated laboratory instrumentation and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
