Scientific Data Analyst (Surveillance and Medical Intelligence) SME IV

Location: Psychological Health Center of Excellence (PHCoE) – hybrid / telework eligible (routine and situational telework authorized; facility space restrictions may require part-time or full-time telework). Must be able to obtain and maintain a TIER 2 non-critical sensitive clearance. Full-time position.

About the role

Knowesis is seeking a Scientific Data Analyst (Subject Matter Expert IV) to conduct complex queries and analyses of large administrative healthcare datasets, supporting military health surveillance and medical intelligence. This role provides critical, rapid-response data analysis to guide PHCoE leadership and clinical operations regarding mental health utilization, cost, and prevalence.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct queries of large military health administrative data to create analyzable datasets supporting surveillance and epidemiological studies.
• Rapidly develop and execute analytic plans to produce actionable responses to operational requests for information concerning mental health utilization, cost, prevalence, and related topics.
• Evaluate incoming analytic tasking requirements and advise government stakeholders on appropriate analytic approaches.
• Produce technical artifacts (e.g., reports, tools, briefings, presentations, and manuscripts) consistent with the PHCoE mission set.

Requirements

• Master’s degree.
• At least 13 years of full-time work experience analyzing large administrative healthcare data.
• At least 3 years of full-time experience accessing, navigating, and conducting analyses within the MHS Information Platform (MIP) or its predecessor systems.

Qualifications

• Doctorate (preferred).
• Advanced proficiency with SAS, SQL, or R for data management and analysis.
• Proven experience creating data visualizations and dashboards for executive audiences.

Pay

$90,000 – $135,000 per year.
