About the role
VyTalent Solutions is seeking a School Services American Sign Language Interpreter for a local contract job in Gary, Indiana. The position is open to On-Site or Virtual candidates.
Responsibilities
- Provide fluent, real-time American Sign Language interpretation for deaf or hard-of-hearing students in educational settings.
- Facilitate clear communication between students, peers, teachers, and school staff during instructional time and school activities.
- Adapt to varied classroom formats, whether delivering services on-site or through a virtual platform.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) team meetings to offer insights on communication accommodations and student needs.
- Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to the Educational Interpreter Code of Ethics.
Requirements
- Valid Indiana Sign Language Interpreter License or state educational interpreting credentials (or applicable certifications for virtual providers).
- Preferred: Educational interpreting experience preferred (EIPA score of 3.5+ or RID certification).
