About the role
The school psychologist provides a program of services geared to assisting in the educational process of the children who are enrolled in the district. The school psychologist will be considered a part of the district administrative team for programs in areas of psychological testing, staff development, supervision, and resource development. The school psychologist coordinates evaluations, provides diagnostic assessment, carries out psychological consultation, intervention, research, and assists in program planning for students in alignment with our Multi-Level System of Supports (MLSS).
Responsibilities
- Coordinate evaluations and provide diagnostic assessment
- Carry out psychological consultation and intervention
- Assist in program planning for students within the Multi-Level System of Supports (MLSS)
- Provide individual and/or small group social and emotional interventions
- Implement trauma-informed care, including verbal de-escalation and nonviolent crisis intervention (NVCI or similar)
- Apply Restorative Practices
- Work with families and students with diverse backgrounds and experiences to improve school performance
Requirements
- Current, or ability to obtain, Wisconsin DPI license in School Psychologist 7062
- Knowledge of Multi-Level System of Supports (MLSS)
- Training in trauma-informed care, including verbal de-escalation and nonviolent crisis intervention (NVCI or similar)
- Experience with Restorative Practices
