Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological evaluations to identify students' cognitive, academic, and social-emotional needs, and determine eligibility for special education services.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students facing academic, behavioral, or emotional challenges.
- Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, academic advisors, and the emotional support team to develop strategies that promote student well-being and academic achievement.
- Participate in crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of the school community.
- Mentor and supervise psychology and social work interns from local university partners.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with school policies and state regulations.
Requirements
- Valid Delaware Educator License or eligibility for licensure in Delaware
- Delaware School Psychologist Standard Certificate or eligibility to obtain
- Master's degree and Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) or higher
- Prior experience working with urban youth preferred
- Proficiency in conducting psychological assessments, developing intervention plans, and providing counseling services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential
