Description Summary
The School Psychologist provides psychological evaluation services including, but not limited to, assessments, reports, providing related educational recommendations, consultation, therapy, and any other applicable educational services for students of the school.
Essential Functions
- Takes the necessary steps to ensure compliance in meetings
- Ensures all newly received documents (evaluation team reports, etc.) are compliant
- Ensures all existing documents are compliant following the guidelines set forth by the state
- Administers psychoeducational assessments to currently enrolled students per mandated time frames as assigned
- Writes comprehensive psychological reports per mandated time frames as assigned
- Assists in evaluation team report meetings
- Participates in the school's intervention assistance team when needed
- Works closely with guidance counselors to provide training in various emotional health areas
- Keeps abreast of all changing legislative issues impacting special education eligibility
- Attends eligibility meetings to review psychological assessments and aid in eligibility determinations
- Drafts special education documents to include: goals, services, progress reports, initial IEP's and/or Eligibility reports
- Affords assistance to the Special Education Director and Psychological Services Supervisor in developing, leading, participating in professional development for the general education staff, special education staff, and parents of students in special education programs
- Reviews results of evaluations with parents
- Attends RTI meetings as needed
- Provides parent consultations
- Consults with teachers/administrators about student concerns
- Affords assistance to Psychological Services Supervisor when needed
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Specialist's Degree Level 6 GA-Professional Certificate or equivalent Non-Renewable Processional Certificate
- One (1) year of experience as a school psychologist OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates and Licenses
- Current Georgia state certification/licensure in school psychology
Desired Qualifications
- Three (3) years experience
- NCSP Knowledge/experience
- Knowledge/experience in a virtual learning environment
- Knowledge/experience conducting virtual evaluations
