SY 26-27 School Psychologist

About the role

The School District of Philadelphia is seeking qualified individuals to provide psychological services to students who may need special education or gifted services. The position involves conducting evaluations, providing consultative services, and participating in multi-disciplinary team processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations of cognitive, academic, and social-emotional development using psychological and educational tests.
• Administer psychological and educational tests to identify learning and behavioral differences in individual students.
• Participate in the multi-disciplinary team process of student evaluations.
• Assist in the development of the individual educational program by making placement, service, and referral recommendations.
• Follow-up on students' placement, adjustment, and achievement by consulting with school staff, parents, and outside service agencies.
• Prepare and maintain case history records on individual students.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Four years of professional experience working in the field of child psychology.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles of child and adolescent psychology and related behavioral sciences.
• Demonstrated ability to administer psychological and educational tests in an educational setting.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of psychological techniques employed in the modification of human behavior.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate respectfully to parents regarding a student's evaluation findings.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver professional development to educators and parents on issues and processes related to exceptional children.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in English and American Sign Language.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate respectfully to parents regarding a student's evaluation findings.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Schedule
