Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs in a shared governance setting.
• Teach using active strategies tailored to diverse learning styles, including lecture, lab/clinical teaching, online, and hybrid instruction.
• Engage in the Boyer model of scholarship: teaching, discovery, application, implementation, and engagement.
• Participate in service activities supporting the university, School of Nursing, profession, and community.
• Teach 12–15 credit hours per academic year (Spring/Fall semesters) with up to 7 credits during the summer session.
• Hold office hours, attend School of Nursing and University Assembly meetings, mentor students, and contribute to college and community service.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of School of Nursing academic programs.
• Assist with accreditation activities.
• Serve as an active member and in leadership positions for School of Nursing and D’Youville Standing Committees.
• Advise and mentor nursing students.
• Participate in strategic planning initiatives to build programs, create opportunities, and innovate nursing education.

Requirements

• Unencumbered RN license and APRN license with national certification in AGACNP to practice in New York, or licensure in another U.S. state with eligibility for New York licensure.
• Master’s degree in nursing from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Earned doctorate in nursing or a closely related field from an institutionally accredited college or university (preferred).
• Three to five years of academic experience in nursing in higher education, with a record of teaching, service, and research (preferred).

• Possess clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Establish excellent interpersonal and collaborative relationships with students, faculty, administrators, staff, and the broader D’Youville community.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods in instructional settings and operate a computer and telephone.
• Capability to perform light to moderate lifting, pushing, or pulling of equipment.

Schedule

• Part-time adjunct position.
• Teaching responsibilities: 12–15 credit hours per academic year (Spring/Fall semesters) with up to 7 credits during the summer session.
