About the role

The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) seeks applicants for a part-time lecturer pool. The department is looking for experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach on the San Bernardino Campus in various subject areas.

Responsibilities

  • Teach on the San Bernardino Campus in the following subject areas: Social Network Analysis, Crime Prevention, Victimology, Correctional Administration, Police Administration, Terrorism, Juvenile Justice, Women & Crime, Domestic Violence, Drugs and the Criminal Justice System.
  • Hold a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Criminology/Criminal Justice or related field at the time of employment.
  • Demonstrate evidence of teaching promise.
  • Have prior teaching experience at the college or university level.
  • Bring relevant work experience and professional capabilities.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Criminology/Criminal Justice or related field at the time of employment and demonstrate evidence of teaching promise. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Criminology/Criminal Justice or related field at the time of employment and evidence of teaching promise.

Special Conditions

  • The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
  • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with CSUSB. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer of employment.

Salary

  • Lecturer A (Range 2): $5,507 – $6,677
  • Lecturer B (Range 3): $6,221 – $13,224
  • Lecturer C (Range 4): $6,825 – $14,523
  • Lecturer D (Range 5): $8,593 – $15,211
