About the role
The School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) seeks Instructional Student Assistants (ISA) to perform grading, tutoring, and/or laboratory assistance duties. These assignments are made by the CSE department or a CSE faculty member and must be approved by the Director of CSE.
Responsibilities
- Tutoring and grading of coursework
- Laboratory assistance
- Performing duties over the course of an academic term
- Working on campus and hours must be approved by the Director of CSE
Requirements
- Enrolled in a class on campus
- Maintain a graduate GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Admitted or registered in a program at CSUSB
- Must be able to learn and perform assigned work
- Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students
- Accept responsibility
Qualifications
- Show evidence of satisfactory progress toward completing their degree
- Preferred qualifications include a graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
- Good academic standing at CSUSB
- Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation
- Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience

- Considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act
- Background check required before employment
- Must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083
