About the role

The School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) seeks Instructional Student Assistants (ISA) to perform grading, tutoring, and/or laboratory assistance duties. These assignments are made by the CSE department or a CSE faculty member and must be approved by the Director of CSE.

Responsibilities

• Tutoring and grading of coursework
• Laboratory assistance
• Performing duties over the course of an academic term
• Working on campus and hours must be approved by the Director of CSE

Requirements

• Enrolled in a class on campus
• Maintain a graduate GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Admitted or registered in a program at CSUSB
• Must be able to learn and perform assigned work
• Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students
• Accept responsibility

Qualifications

• Show evidence of satisfactory progress toward completing their degree
• Preferred qualifications include a graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
• Good academic standing at CSUSB
• Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation
• Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience

Special Conditions

• Considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act
• Background check required before employment
• Must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083
