Department of Biology Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) Pool

About the role

The Department of Biology at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) seeks part-time Instructional Student Assistants (ISAs) for the San Bernardino Campus (SBC) and/or Palm Desert Campus (PDC).

Responsibilities

• Assisting Biology staff, faculty, and students
• Assisting Instructional Support Technicians in preparation for laboratory or other course needs as appropriate
• Assisting faculty and course instructors in tasks such as grading, tutoring, and assessment

Requirements

• Candidates must be matriculated students at CSUSB
• A commitment to teamwork and working closely with the staff/faculty/instructors to which they are assigned

Qualifications

• Good organizational and communication skills
• Previous experience in the specific duties to which they will be assigned, such as knowledge of good laboratory practice and safety considerations, or assessment/grading of student work is preferred

Special Conditions

• The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
• A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with CSUSB.
• Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer of employment.

Salary

$17.86 – $23.84 Per Hour
