School Intervention Coach

About the role

With supervision, this role will provide training and ongoing coaching / consultation to school staff to support their implementation and sustainability of evidenced-based behavioral health prevention or intervention programs (e.g., social-emotional learning, aggression/bullying prevention, management of internalizing or externalizing behaviors). This position exists within the context of a research study and therefore the intervention coach will also participate in related research activities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve As Program Champion in Partnering Schools
  • Help to recruit schools into the studies along with senior team members
  • Participate in school partnership activities, including attendance at school events/activities, and ongoing information sharing and problem-solving related to the study
  • Determine and balance school/staff needs and research protocols
  • Train school staff on evidenced-based aggression & bullying prevention programming, including intervention content, materials, and implementation considerations
  • Train school staff on intervention-related issues including social-emotional learning, managing student behaviors, and cultural proficiency
  • Provide ongoing coaching/consultation, modeling and technical assistance to school staff implementing programs
  • Observe program implementation by school staff and monitor and document intervention fidelity
  • Participate in the recruitment and enrollment of study participants (e.g., students, teachers, counselors, parents)
  • Administer pre- and post-intervention assessment battery to study participants
  • Receive regular supervision from study investigators and supervisors
  • Attend research team meetings and activities
  • Other research activities as assigned and appropriate

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in education, school/clinical psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field

Required Experience Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year of teaching, counseling or similar coaching/consultation experience
  • At least three (3) years of teaching, counseling or similar coaching/consultation experience in a school related or resource-challenged environment

  • Intermediate knowledge of school organizational dynamics, including within urban school environments

Pay

Salary range: $53,000.00 – $66,300.00 Annually
