About the role
This classification ensures the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians throughout school zones.
Responsibilities
- Assist children and adults at school street crossings.
- Expedite the movement of children and traffic to and from the school.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Schedule
This position works only during the regular school calendar while school is in session, typically 10–20 hours per week.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of the Henry County Police Training Division Traffic Direction Training (one-day course).
- Valid Georgia driver’s license.
Skills
- Basic law enforcement traffic direction skills.
- Knowledge of hand and whistle signals.
- Ability to deal courteously with the general public.
- Proficiency in performing essential functions and applying County or departmental policies, practices, and procedures.
