School Crossing Guard

Description

The City of Germantown is seeking Seasonal School Crossing Guards to assist in controlling vehicular traffic and pedestrians in school zones. This position requires a split shift, working both mornings and afternoons with time off in between.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
• Effectively communicate and deal with the public and school age children in a courteous and respectful manner
• Have a general knowledge of pedestrian traffic rules and common traffic rules provided by state and city ordinances
• Be self-motivated to perform duties safely and be punctual and productive at all times
• Have the physical ability to perform essential job functions including distinguishing colors and hearing adequately with high levels of background noise

Requirements

• High School Graduate
• At least 18 years of age
• Successfully pass a background check and employee physical
• Possess a valid driver's license

Working Conditions

Duties are performed outside, working in all types of weather conditions. Requires standing for extended periods of time with intermittent bending, twisting, and reaching.
