About the role

The purpose of the position is to assist pedestrians in crosswalks and maintain an orderly, safe flow of traffic at assigned site, and to perform related work as required.

Responsibilities

• Stops and directs traffic at designated site as needed to allow pedestrians to cross the street safely
• Controls pedestrian traffic
• Keeps crosswalks free of cars and/or obstacles
• Observes traffic flow and reports any traffic problems to assigned supervisor
• Prepares and submits routine work records as required
• Maintains assigned equipment
• Receives and responds to citizen inquiries, complaints and requests for assistance
• Attends training as necessary to enhance job knowledge and skills

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening

Licenses & Certifications

• Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license without a record of suspension or revocation in any state
