Responsibilities
- Prepare cooking ingredients by washing, cutting, chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.
- Serves meals by reviewing recipes; assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients
- Follow all safety protocols with regard to proper sanitizing and food allergies
- Producing items for the hot entree of the day, as well as preparation for events
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotels, restaurants, and/or catering
- Ability to lift 25-50+ pounds and stand for long stretches of time
- Proficient in food preparation, cooking techniques, and portion control
- Previous experience in a school or institutional culinary setting is preferred
- Able to work collaboratively in a team, maintain a clean workstation, and manage time efficiently
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines
- Willingness to offer and accept constructive criticism for the overall improvement of the team
- Able to understand both written and verbal instructions in English
- Able to work well under pressure and with the time constraints of a busy commercial kitchen

$24-26 an hour
Schedule
Full-time, 10-month/year position. All kitchen and dining room personnel must be available to work evening and/or weekend special events, as scheduled.
