Essential Functions
- Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.
- Affords assistance with the assessment and coordination of various special academic programs; picks up students and organizes groups for testing.
- Affords assistance to teachers with daily attendance in special academic programs and regular classrooms; prepares referrals and all accompanying documentation; prepares, tracks, and files home visit forms.
- Affords assistance with the placement of new students into special academic programs; distributes copies of placement to homeroom and directing teacher.
- Enters assessment data into a database and spreadsheet including student name, reading teacher assessment, and placements.
- Prepares student assessment folders; divides assessment folders into groups and files.
- Affords assistance with the daily upkeep of designated special program rooms and facilities; keeps working areas organized and neat.
- Answers the telephone; provides information and assistance; takes/relays messages to appropriate personnel.
- Maintains surveillance of designated areas as required.
- Operates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools associated with department activities, which may include a laminator, copy machine, or poster maker.
- Monitors and patrols designated areas as required.

Physical Abilities
- Physical Ability: Exerts light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).
- Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability.
