School Campus Monitor

Location: Clearfield High School • 5.9 hours per day / 174 days per year • Grade 5 pay: $19.02 per hour (2026-2027 Support Salary Table). Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase.

About the role

Under direct supervision of the Principal or Assistant Principal, the School Campus Monitor provides assistance in maintaining a safe and secure school environment.

Responsibilities

• Patrol school corridors, locker rooms, restrooms, assembly and athletic facilities, gymnasiums, bus loading areas, and school grounds.
• Monitor buildings and grounds for unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activities.
• Investigate incidents and notify school administrators of situations, activities, or threats of harm to students on or near school property.
• Diffuse threatening situations/confrontations in a positive and constructive manner.
• Intervene appropriately in situations likely to result in disruption or injury.
• Assist students in getting to class and monitor indoor and outdoor areas.
• Monitor entry doorbells and perform other duties as assigned to help improve student attendance.
• Work with administration and office staff to maintain campus security.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with students in an educational setting preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

• Effective computer technology skills; CCTV experience preferred.
• Effective problem solving, organizational, multi-tasking, judgment, and time management skills.
• Demonstrated competence in reading, writing, and basic math.
• Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of basic first-aid; CPR training preferred.
• Ability to work with disruptive or non-cooperative students.
• Ability to maintain control in stressful situations.
