School Bus Driver - Full Time

Role: Bus Driver responsible for transporting students safely and efficiently to and from school. Key Responsibilities Perform daily bus checks, fueling, oil level assessments, and interior cleaning, including during field trips and using spare buses.Warm up buses appropriately prior to driving and conduct pre-trip inspections using provided tablets, reporting online.Maintain order and discipline among passengers, ensuring only students or designated supervisors are onboard, and handle discipline fairly within school guidelines.Post-trip bus inspections to check for left items, damages, and secure windows.Use radios properly for school-related communication and keep accurate records as per legal and policy requirements.Participate in emergency evacuation drills and demonstrate emergency procedures competence.Report injuries, damages, safety hazards, and accidents immediately in writing to the Transportation office.Attend mandatory meetings called by the Transportation Director, compensated at regular pay. Qualifications And Skills High school diploma required.Annual DOT/Michigan Department of Education physical exam.Valid CDL license with B, P, S, and air brakes endorsements, renewed before expiration.Pass drug testing and maintain a good driving record.Complete state-mandated and district-specific training, including advanced school bus driver classes.
