School Age Childcare Site Directors – Before & After School
About the role
The Site Director is the heart of a Healthy Kids Programs location. You'll lead the daily operations of the site by creating a safe, engaging program that children love and families trust. You'll support and coach your team, build strong relationships with families and school partners, and ensure the program meets Healthy Kids Programs' quality standards and all licensing requirements.
Responsibilities
- Loves working with children and helping them learn through play and positive experiences
- Bridges the gap between parents and schools, ensuring smooth transitions and communication
- Supports and coaches the teaching staff, providing guidance and resources
- Ensures compliance with state childcare licensing and school-age care regulations
- Manages the budget and inventory to maintain a well-stocked program
- Coordinates with families to provide a seamless transition from school to program
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with school partners and families
- Ensures the program is safe, engaging, and aligned with Healthy Kids Programs’ model
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting
- Some experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
- Familiarity with before- and after-school program environments a plus
- Knowledge of state childcare licensing or school-age care regulations helpful but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or early childhood coursework preferred
