Schedules appointments from incoming phone calls in high volume call center format.
Processes all necessary registration information and educate patient families of their financial obligations.
Essential Functions
- Schedules appointments via incoming telephone calls per Central Scheduling protocols and facilitate intake process for appropriate triage utilizing CHW technology.
- Provide pre-registration support for scheduled services per department guidelines.
- Discusses potential financial obligations with parent.
- Educates parent guardian or patient on managed care process and required authorization needed per CHW policies and managed care contractors.
- Updates insurance information for accuracy and verifies current/ future eligibility
- Places outbound calls to patient families to schedule and register appointment via work lists found in work queues.
Education
- High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required
Experience
- 1+ years Customer service experience required
- Experience in registration and/or scheduling preferred
- Epic experience preferred
- Call center experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to serve a variety of people in a fast paced call center environment
- Ability to make decisions based on established clinic protocols preferred.
- Excellent organization and prioritizing skills necessary to work in a fast paced multi-functioned department preferred.
- Proficient data entry skills with accuracy and speed
