Scheduling Rep 1

About the Role

The Scheduling Representative will coordinate all scheduling activities with the Scheduling Team, balancing inbound service level needs of Procurement Buying Teams, manufacturers, and transportation carriers. This role involves daily collaboration with Transportation and Warehouse Operations, and frequent communication with Buying Assistants, Buyers/Analysts, Supervisors/Senior Analysts, Managers, and Directors.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and schedule inbound loads to ensure high customer service levels and distribution efficiency.
• Ensure appropriate receiving capacity by facility, day, and hour; communicate variances outside guidelines.
• Use an online dock scheduling system to expedite high-priority orders, including rush shipments.
• Assist and train manufacturers and carriers in the proper use of the scheduling system.
• Create multiple inter-facility transfers while attaining minimum average weight and cube.
• Coordinate timely resolution of past-due purchase orders and communicate exceptions to warehouse, transportation, and procurement teams.
• Review the status of expedited orders to ensure timely arrival.
• Create weekly storage pullbacks from public and company-wide storage facilities while attaining minimum average weight and cube.
• Assist with continued service level and inbound monitoring.
• Complete ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
• Professional customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Outstanding attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• 1-2 years of experience (no prior experience required).
