Responsibilities

  • Accurately schedules, pre-screens, and pre-registers patients for various radiology exams.
  • Explains proper preparation for radiology exams to patients via phone or in person.
  • Notifies technical staff about STAT work and processes all requisitions for radiology exams.
  • Verifies patient information and ensures correct exam scheduling.
  • Documents requisition details and questions patients about their preparation.
  • Reschedules and communicates with patients regarding changes in their schedules.
  • Assists patients and notifies relevant staff of priorities.
  • Answers phone requests and messages from the phone tree.
  • Explains the outpatient registration process to patients during scheduling encounters.
  • Provides proper examination instructions to patients and explains test procedures.
  • Maintains a good rapport with all members of the Radiology Department.
  • Handles telephone information requests with courtesy and respect for confidentiality.
  • Channels suggestions, criticisms, and questions to appropriate individuals.
  • Determines the proper sequence of procedures for maximum efficiency.
  • Assists other personnel independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attends staff meetings and incorporates the physiological and developmental age of patients into care plans.
  • Maintains confidentiality and follows hospital policies on fire safety, infection control, smoking regulations, and telephone usage.
  • Adheres to hospital dress codes and demonstrates positive business demeanor.
  • Recognizes and deals with priorities promptly and reports any suggestions or positive changes to supervisor.
  • Shows respect and professionalism to patients, co-workers, supervisors, and physicians.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, which may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Preferred: Trade/Vocational School Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program.

Pay

Your final base compensation will be determined based on factors such as employment status (Full/Part-Time or Per Diem), skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity when making final offers.

Schedule

Depending on the position, responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours to meet the operational needs of the Department and/or the Hospital.
