Scheduler Special Procedure

About the role

Follows established policies and procedures, gathers and records all necessary information in the process of scheduling procedures and generating a hospital account.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze orders to ensure patients are optimized to proceed with needed procedure to accurately schedule highly complex invasive cases and appointments within multiple applications within EPIC.
• Educate offices, surgeons, and other support staff how to accurately complete case requests and manage their block time.
• Ensure procedures being scheduled have the appropriate insurance to protect patients from unanticipated financial impacts.
• Advocate for patient safety and quality outcomes by confirming surgical credentialing is aligned with procedure being scheduled.
• Recognize and adhere to all CMS, JCAHO, and HIPAA requirements when creating a hospital account.
• Perform job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two (2) years' experience or equivalent with scheduling and/or registration and/or insurance verification in a healthcare setting

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. On-site at TGH Crystal River.

Pay

Minimum salary: $15.52 per hour.
