Scheduler/Pre-Registrar

Responsibilities

• Receive phone calls and fax requests to schedule patients for outpatient tests.
• Complete pre-registration of scheduled patients and ensure valid provider orders are obtained.
• Demonstrate a high level of compassion in providing quality and safe patient care.
• Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and insurance payors to assist patients.
• Work independently with little to no supervision while multitasking effectively.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Scheduling or Patient Access experience.
• Knowledge of insurance payors including commercial, government, and third-party.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Office experience in a healthcare environment with knowledge of CPT-ICD 10.
• Ability to multitask effectively and manage time efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting emphasizing patient scheduling.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills to enhance patient interactions.
• Additional certifications related to patient access or scheduling.
